PRIVACY POLICY

What we collect, why we collect it, and how to make us stop.

LAST UPDATED — AUGUST 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Wow With Lighting (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit wowwithlighting.com. By using this website you agree to the practices described here.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you give us directly. If you email us or submit a form on this site, we receive your name, your email address, and the content of your message. If you leave a comment, we receive the name, email address, and any website address you enter, along with your comment and your IP address.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools automatically record technical data when you visit. This can include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, how long you spend on a page, and the referring website or search term that brought you here.

Cookies and similar technologies. We and our third-party providers place cookies and use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage. Our Cookie Policy describes these in detail and explains how to control them.

What we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect payment card details, government identification numbers, precise geolocation, or special categories of sensitive personal data. We do not sell personal information.

2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

  • To operate, maintain, and secure the website.
  • To respond to your emails, questions, corrections, and other enquiries.
  • To understand which guides are read, how visitors navigate the site, and where content is failing, so we can improve it.
  • To attribute qualifying purchases made through our affiliate links so that commissions can be credited correctly.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate spam, abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our Terms and Conditions.

3. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

Where the General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases. Consent, for non-essential cookies and analytics, which you may withdraw at any time. Legitimate interests, for site security, spam prevention, and understanding aggregate site usage, balanced against your rights. Legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use third-party services that may receive or process data about your visit. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read.

  • Google Analytics. Aggregate traffic measurement and site usage reporting. Google may process technical and behavioural data as described in its own privacy documentation.
  • Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Our primary affiliate programme. Amazon uses cookies to attribute qualifying purchases made after you click one of our links.
  • Web hosting and content delivery providers. These process server logs, including IP addresses, in order to deliver and secure the site.
  • Google Fonts. Typefaces are requested from Google’s font service, which may receive your IP address as part of that request.

We do not control how these third parties use data collected through their own technologies, and this Privacy Policy does not govern their practices.

5. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above, to the extent needed for them to perform their function, and where we are legally required to do so, such as in response to a lawful request from a public authority, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6. DATA RETENTION

We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and to maintain a record of it. Comments and their associated metadata are retained indefinitely so that follow-up replies remain intelligible. Analytics data is retained according to the provider’s configured retention period. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, to request deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, to request portability of information you provided, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law.

TO EXERCISE ANY OF THESE RIGHTS, email hello@wowwithlighting.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. SECURITY AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.

10. CHANGES AND CONTACT

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the Last Updated date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of it.
